Winter Season Cancelled

March 17, 2020 By

We are very sad to share that the City of New Westminster under new mandates from the BC Provincial Government have suspend all gatherings on city property exceeding 50 people through May 30th. Unfortunately this includes the New West Farmers Market. We know that a lot of people were eager to have a way to grocery shop that was less crowded, with fewer common touch points, and outdoors while also keeping their money in the community, but we must comply with the directives we have received to ensure that we are all working to flatten the curve.
The New West Farmers Market winter season is officially over and the first month of our summer season has also been cancelled, beyond that we simply can’t say right now but we are still planning our summer market so that we’re ready to come back to Tipperary Park as soon as we are able.
When we have any new updates, we will share them with you! In the meantime, please try to spend your money locally as much as you can, these cancellations directly impact our neighbours and their small businesses. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones! We will miss seeing you on Belmont Street.

The next market will take place on at , from 11am to 3pm.

Land Acknowledgement

Our market is grateful to operate on the unceded land of the Qayqayt, Kwikwetlem, and other Halkomelem speaking Peoples. We acknowledge that colonialism has made invisible their histories and connections to the land. We acknowledge the incredible gift this land is to our market and BC Agriculture. We commit to the ongoing work of decolonization and allyship.
