Give a helping hand to the New West Farmers Market!
We are running a fundraiser until August 31st in hopes of raising $15,000 to buy our own shipping container and retrofit it for functionality and security.
Earlier in our season we experienced two horrifying break-ins. Between the two, we’ve lost both our trailer (written off by ICBC) as well as half of our equipment. Since then we have had to replace some items, go without many, and rent an interim storage solution. It is clear to us that a more secure storage solution is required and unfortunately the money ICBC is giving us for the trailer is nowhere near enough to provide us a viable solution.
Having a secure storage solution is integral in continuing our work to provide a safe social gathering space, supporting our small local businesses and farmers, as well as supporting members of the community through the BCAFM Nutrition Coupon Program. We need your help.

Holly Nickerson, New Westminster artist, has designed a new mural for the side of our future shipping container. It will have room for community members to immortalize your handprints to show our appreciation and gratitude for your support in this difficult time. Donate $25 to have your handprint included or $50 to have your handprint AND name.
COVID-19 has caused a shortage of shipping containers. At this time, we do not know the exact timeline of when we will be able to acquire one. However, as soon as we have one, we will alert all donors so we can schedule them to add their handprint to this masterpiece that will live in the parking lot of New Westminster City Hall for years to come.
