  • 2022 Vendor Application

    Before you begin...

Please be aware that COVID-19 directives from Fraser Health and the Province may change rules and market activities without notice.

Filling out this form does not guarantee your dates. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted via email with your date approval, invoice, and request for further documents as needed (please provide as many documents as possible with your application to help speed up our process!) We have a very small team, and getting through the volume of applications we receive can take some time. You will hear back whether you are accepted or not. If you have any concerns, please email us at info@newwestfarmers.ca

    Stall Fees:

    ~10’ X 10’ - $45 per market +taxes

    ~10’ X 20’ - $80 per market +taxes

    ~ Food Truck - $57 + tax per market

Please give yourself approximately 10 minutes to complete this form. Please provide as much detail as possible, and include any relevant forms or pieces of information. You may save your progress at any stage and continue later.

    Required Documentation

You will be asked to attach a copy of your current insurance policy. The City of New Westminster and the New West Farmers' Market must be included as additionally insured on your policy. Please review our Insurance Guidelines.

Any vendors selling food must be well versed in and compliant with the BCCDC's Guidelines for Sales at Temporary Food Markets and must provide documentation of approval from Fraser Health (or equivalent) whether your product is low or high risk.

Alcohol vendors must provide Market Authorization from the LCRB, and Serving it Right.

If you are operating a food truck or cooking onsite, you must have documentation and approval from the New Westminster Fire Department.

If you are selling spa or beauty products, you will need to provide a Canada Health Cosmetics Number.

If you are selling pet food, treats or consumables of any sort, you will need to provide your FoodSafe.

You may submit these documents at a later date, but your application will be considered incomplete until they are received and the process for approval will be much quicker if you submit them with your application

    Market Guidelines

We ask that you please take the time to carefully read our Market Vendor Guidelines. There are some very important rules in our Guidelines that you must follow in order to maintain status as an active vendor at NWFM, including payment of stall fees, cancellation and lateness policies, and signage policies. These guidelines are updated every season as needed, and are enforced, so please read them. When you submit your application, you are acknowledging that you have read them.

    Questions?

If you have any questions about your application, please contact info@newwestfarmers.ca. The New West Farmers Market takes place at Tipperary Park beside New Westminster City Hall weekly on Thursdays from 3-7pm starting March 31, 2022 and ending November 3, 2022.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a NWFM vendor!

  • Third-Party Produce and Products

We encourage our farmers to grow at least 80% of the produce/products they bring to the market. However, we know that during some times of the year this is not always possible.
  • In keeping with the market’s mission and being respectful of yourself and other farmers, dumping of produce at below fair market value is strongly discouraged.

The market value of farmer's produce should reflect the farmer’s labour and knowledge as well as quality, time of season, and variety of crop grown.

Failure to report produce/products brought to markets from other farms or underpricing my produce/products may result in my farm being reviewed by the board and subsequently dismissed from the market at any point during the season.

Please Note: If you are a vendor who sells their product from a truck or trailer, or for some other reason are larger than a 10x10 stall you will be charged for a double stall. Food trucks are exempt and have their own rate. Have questions? Please email us at info@newwestfarmers.ca.
  • Please Note: Power is no longer available to vendors at our Tipperary Park market (as it has proven too unreliable for vendor use). If you require power, you must supply your own QUIET gas or diesel generator and be able to operate it safely. The fire department does regular walk throughs of the market and you will be expected to be operating a generator responsibly.

  • We will be holding 31 markets this season, running March 31 to November 3. Please check off all dates you are interested in attending.

Please note: The sun sets during the market for our last 5 markets of the season (October 6, October 13, October 20, October 27, and November 3). We have portable lighting and it becomes a very fun night market feel, but vendors must supply additional battery operated lighting for inside their own tent to make sure their products are well lit!

  • The City of New Westminster requires that vendors hold the appropriate insurance. We understand that rules vary in different municipalities, however this requirement is non-negotiable. Vendors may not attend a market until they:

    1. • hold the appropriate, current, insurance and submit it to the Market Manager
    2. • add the City of New Westminster and New West Farmers Market Society as additional insured

The full insurance requirements to forward to your insurance broker are detailed here. If you are uninsured, the BCAFM offers a vendor membership program that includes a group insurance rate.
